Our client had albums upon albums of photos capturing his father’s life in the years he served as a World War II pilot (flying B-24s between 1943 and 1945).

The client knew the photos were important. And he admired his father for this amazing accomplishment, although like many of his generation, his father did not dwell or talk about it often.

Nevertheless, his son was inspired by his father’s stories, so much so that he spent years researching to learn more about his dad’s experience and the other men who served in the Army Air Force.

We shared in the client’s amazement of this incredible sacrifice next to the courage of those who served. These young men endured rigorous and fast-paced training to become pilots, gunners, and bombers in planes that were built and equipped in record time to rise to the needs of the missions. And ultimately, on each mission they left knowing they might not come back.

Our goal was to collaborate with the client and turn some of the photos and research into a piece to preserve this important legacy so that the stories can live on. We think the work was a success.

“In the end, we’ll all become stories.” – Margaret Atwood

I used her course to organize my office, and it is in pretty good shape these days. Success in one space has lead to cleaning channels to other rooms and photos as well. Check out he courses here.
