I’m pretty sure the FACT that I’m a huge Public Radio fan is peppered throughout many of the posts on Storied Gifts. This made today a special treat as I sat with my friend and Storied Gifts client Les Menke at the Iowa Public Radio studio, while he was interviewed by Charity Nebbe of Talk of Iowa.
Charity did a lovely job of asking Les questions that allowed him to shine in delivering his memories of his youth in the 1920s and 30s with his charming storyteller style. I couldn’t help but beam for him as I listened. Les was kind in noting and crediting Storied Gifts for getting his written text into a finely printed book, and he recommended that young people keep a journal of their experiences while they are young because memories do fade.
Take a listen to the show which began with an interview about Civil War medicine and then transitioned to Les for the last 20 minutes of the program.
